Verdicts & Settlements
The following is a small sample of the settlements I have won for clients in specific cases. Please keep in mind that every case is different and must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances. Past results do not guarantee future results. It is also important to note that the amounts stated below are the full dollar amounts recovered before fees and costs are deducted.
Automobile Accident
$1,500,000.00 recovery. A toddler was struck and killed by a van when she ran into the street. Accident reconstruction was able to establish that if the driver had been paying attention to the road, he would have been able to stop in time. Settlement was reached before suit was filed.
Dog Bite Victim
$375,000 Recovery. A client had her bottom lip bitten off by a Pitbull. Doctors were able to reattach the lip; however, after two painful surgeries, the client was left with permanent facial scarring and injuries. Settlement was achieved prior to filing suit.
Legal Malpractice / Wrongful Death
$350,000 Recovery. The client had a wrongful death case pending after her father slipped and fell, and then died. The client’s attorney missed the statutory filing deadline, resulting in the client losing her right to sue. Settlement was reached at mediation prior to suit being filed.

$350,000 Settlement The client was a woman whose father died after sustaining significant injuries from falling down a dark flight of stairs in his apartment building.
Slip & Fall Accident
$325,000 Recovery. The client slipped and fell in an auto body shop after being directed to walk down a dark pathway. The client suffered a fractured femur, resulting in surgery and permanent disability. Settlement was achieved prior to filing suit.
Nursing Home Neglect
$250,000 Recovery. The client’s mother died after being neglected by home health care workers. There was a question of whether the victim would have died but for the neglect. Settlement was reached before suit was filed.
Employer Intentional Tort
$200,000 recovery. The client was injured at work when there was an explosion and fire. In addition to workers’ compensation benefits, we were able to recover additional compensation by establishing that the employer knew that the substance the factor workers were handling was potentially explosive.
Automobile Accident
$100,000 Recovery. Client was a front seat passenger in a vehicle that was hit head on by a driver going the wrong way in traffic. The client was hospitalized for a few days with a dislocated foot, a broken toe, and a concussion. Settlement was reached before suit was filed.
Automobile Accident
$90,000 Recovery. Client was injured in an automobile accident which took place in an intersection. There were no witnesses, and there was a dispute as to who was at fault. Settlement was recovered prior to trial, and after a prior attorney dropped the case for having no value.
Food Poisoning
$90,000 recovery. A popular supermarket chain sold fish that had become tainted somewhere between the manufacturer and arrival at the store. According to the board of health, at least 50 people had reported illness. My client became violently ill and collapsed, knocking out two front teeth. We reached a settlement prior to filing suit.
Nursing Home Abuse
$85,000 Recovery. Special needs client was abused by a nurse hired by the group home in which she lived. The claim was made against the nursing home for negligent hiring and retention.
Tobogganing-accident
$77,000 Recovery. Client was an 8 year old boy who was injured on a tobogganing ride that malfunctioned. Settlement was obtained before suit was filed.
Dog Bite Victim
$75,000 Recovery. Client was bitten in the eye by her boss’s dog while at work. There was a dispute as to whether this was or was not a claim covered by worker’s compensation. Settlement was achieved prior to trial.
School District Negligence
$70,000 Recovery. Client was a five-year-old girl who sustained second degree burns to the face caused by excessively hot mashed potatoes. School employees made matters worse by not calling 911 after the injury happened.
Funeral Home Negligence
$60,000 recovery. Settlement for a funeral home negligence case.
Nursing Home Neglect
$50,000 Recovery. Client lost a toe after nursing home staff failed to notice and treat an infection.
Funeral Home Negligence
$50,000 Recovery. Funeral home cremated a clients’ father by mistake prior to Catholic vigil and viewing. Settlement reached prior to suit being filed.
